SIX PETALS – LEONA ELISA TIEMESSEN
the six-petal rosette is an ornament that symbolizes perfection. it has been used in especially sacred artwork and architecture dating back to at least the late bronze age and is said to be part of a geometric code that every natural pattern of growth comes back to. it explores and explains the patterns that create and unify all things and describes the way that the energy of creation organizes itself. in this project spatial structures based on the simple geometry of the six-petal rosette examine this perfect structure while trying to emphasize the interconnectedness of all things and the liveliness and creative qualities of matter that are central to the movement of new materialism.
